  Should I go to the AGM?

  i have not been a "publisher" for 5 or 6 years.

  i did not attend meeting except the memorial for 5 or 6 years.

  recently (about 3 months ago) i started going on sunday to help keep peace in the family and smooth out wrinkles in my marrage.

  Sure, take one for the team :). let us know what they say. Aren't some areas by invite only? My family is all traveling an hour away to attend in different shifts at their assembly hall. I know my former local congregation is attending at their own hall.

  AGM is not streamed live, but a download.

  there have been several posts where individuals are asking if it is possible to hack into and watch the agm as it is streamed to the conventions.

  i say it is not streamed live like many are assuming, but a recorded download played for the audience.. why?

  a live stream has many possible points of failure.

  The contrast of the religion's magazines Today as compared to the Past!

  just out of curiosity, i picked up several of the religion's magazines that were laying in a public place.

  half of them were recent editions of the wt and awake and the other were older editions over 12 years old.. the contrast is like night and day!.

  i am not referring to the paper, either.

  Their whole section of FAQ's is so frustrating. Just skirting around the questions, but a JW will ascertain that they've addressed the issues and they need not investigate further on their own.

  Annual Meeting Instructions to MS / Elders

  have any elders or ministerial servants here recieved any specific instructions regarding the annual meeting?

  as an ms all i have been told to do is to arrive early to "await further instruction due to the sensitive nature of my assignment".

  ironically all i can imagine after hearing that a few times is dispensing cyanide laced kool aid to attendees.

  I confirmed with my family that is still in, some have the meeting scheduled for Saturday and some for Sunday. They are traveling one hour to attend at their regularly scheduled assembly hall in the New England area.

  i have recently joined the site.

  i was just appointed an elder this summer.

  i started discovering the ttatt (the truth about the truth) last year after putting a few things together myself concerning the leadership and then doing some research online.. i really enjoyed jwfacts.com, jwsurvey, and others.

  USA | Man Allegedly Fires Gun at a Group of Jehovah's Witnesses

  usa, arkansas | man fires gun at a group of jehovah's witnesses.

  centerton police arrested a man accused of firing close to 19 rounds at a group of jehovahs witnesses on saturday (sept. 28th).

  john baldwin, 35, bonded out on $50,000 sunday morning.. according to a probable cause affidavit, three jehovahs witnesses approached baldwin in his front yard at rainbow farm road and baldwin told them, get your (explicit) off my property, i moved out here to get away from people like you.. the report states the jehovahs witnesses apologized and as they were getting in their car one of them heard get me my 9.. baldwin admitted to firing a gun at three jehovahs witnesses when they drove away from his house, according to the report.. baldwin was booked into benton county jail on felony charges of aggravated assault.. several of baldwins neighbors said he moved to the neighborhood less than a month ago.. kristi tidwell who lives nearby said she was home when police arrived at her neighbors home.. my husband and i were working around the house, we had the blinds open in the back we saw probably seven or eight cop cars pulling in there, tidwell said.

  I noticed a lot of witnesses commented on the actual news article that I pulled up. I made a comment about always check facts and how we can use the Internet to do that and then make logical choices about religion and see which one really has "the truth". I definitely think we should make clear, calm, thinking comments on these news posts, as it is evident more and more witnesses feel the need to refute their faith, at least on the news articles I've been reading. It at least gets nonJw's that don't know about them, to realize issues they have and possibly question them the next time they come to the door.

  Welcome, my teen daughter started expressing doubts late last year. At first, I was very upset and tried to make her do more in "the truth". Then, I thought I would just step up my efforts, possibly pioneer and then she would see how the JW way was best way of life, by my example. I figured I'd reexamine my own faith and try to reprove it to myself. About this time news of the Candace Conti case came my way. I decided that before I tried to squeeze pioneering into an already completely full schedule, I'd better keep reading. Truth can stand up to scrutiny and I rationalized I'd just refute anything false I found online, or so I thought. We have since totally faded. Our last meeting was the Memorial.

  Hopefully, your staying respectful but asking questions will get your mom to think...

  Finally Got to Be the Saturday Morning Householder

  i visited relatives out of state this weekend and sure enough watched two witnesses going door to door approach the house.

  i casually walked out to the front yard and, sure enough an older brother with a young married man in tow came over to me.

  i let them go through the usual speil & took the magazines.
